Will I lose control?
No, as I said before, you won’t lose control; actually, it’s not even possible. While hypnosis is a state of mind requiring you to want to do something, no one can force you to do anything.
One of the most common myths is that the hypnotist can make you do something you don’t want to, for example, cluck like a chicken. But unless you enjoy clucking like a chicken, I won’t be able to “make you” do this.
Can anyone be hypnotized?
Yes, all of us are capable of being hypnotized. Remember, hypnosis is a naturally occurring state of mind and focus.
Occasionally, someone will say they are “too strong-willed” to be hypnotized. But nothing could be further from the truth. Remember, if you have a strong ability to focus, getting hypnotized is easier for you.
Is this sleep?
No, hypnosis is not the same as asleep. It’s a state of heightened awareness and focus.
You’ll hear sounds around you… the noise from cars driving on the street or voices from a conversation in the next room. Most people remember everything that happens during a session.
Is hypnosis safe?
Yes, hypnosis is safe. It’s a normal and ordinary state of mind we naturally experience several times through the day. We experience hypnosis when we watch a good movie, read a good book, or give into day-dreaming.
There is one word of caution I have. Since most people feel quite relaxed when experiencing hypnosis, it’s best not to drive or use heavy machinery while in hypnosis.
What can I expect when I am hypnotized?
Hypnosis is different for everyone. You may find that you are quite relaxed, while others say they feel “normal.” There is no one correct way to feel when you experience hypnosis.
But most importantly, your mind will be alert and receptive to suggestions designed to help you make the changes you wish to make.
Does it work for everyone?
Unfortunately, the answer is no. And here’s why.
To make changes in your life, you have to want to change. But not everybody does.
Sometimes clients come for hypnosis at the request of a loved one. It’s not the client who seeks the change, but the loved one who wants the change more than the client.
In this case, unless the client truly wants to make a change, it may best to delay hypnosis until the client is ready to make the change.
How long does hypnosis take?
Positive results and rapid change can happen quickly with hypnosis. Our sessions last for 60-90 minutes. You may experience a distorted sense of time and feel like you’ve been hypnotized for just a few moments.
Since every person is unique, our sessions are tailored to suit each. Clients are scheduled for a short number of sessions to ensure the most effective hypnotic process.
This model allows us to deliver effective sessions, providing continued reinforcement, self-hypnosis training, and proper customization to your unique needs.
While most clients experience benefits from the very first session, it’s important to remember that this is a process and may require more than one session.
What else can hypnosis help me with?
Hypnosis is used for a variety of conditions, behaviors and even personal and professional development. You’ll find more information here.
